Facts: Martyn, who claims himself a Rock & Roll shouter (although he can actually sing better than the rest of us) is the real pro in our band. A member of a nearly endless number of bands as singer, keyboarder, saxophonist or sometimes all of them at the same time. Despite trying really, really hard, the commercial breakthrough that he strived for over the years didn't happen (so far...) and prevented him from living the Rock & Roll lifestyle in full (but goddamnit he tried!). You will hardly find anyone who loves music more than he does: rock, blues, jazz, country, funk, soul, every style will touch his heart as long as it is played with soul and groove. He's also a real musical encyclopedia and you should be careful what you ask him i.e. about who was the percussionist in an obscure Portuguese art rock band of the seventies, as you could get the whole story of modern music instead.
On stage or during rehearsal, he's always on eleven and with the hand that shook Chick Corea's hand he hits the strings of his Hohner Prinz Telecaster as hard as he can. As an Englishman in Ostwestfalen he has to earn his living as a graphic designer - as long as his record sales don't grow more than the three hundred copies that Japanese (girls?) bought of his last release.
